Dèep Bristol presents JIMMY ALLEN at Death Disco
Earlybirds £5, £6.50 thereafter, £7.50 on the door

A clubnight held at Death Disco on Saturday 22nd November. The event starts at 21:00.

Dèep Bristol return to Death Disco for their final party of the year, this time accompanied by the human dynamo that is JIMMY ALLEN.

Liverpool’s consistent production line of quality DJs has produced a few gems over the years but Jimmy Allen is one of the jewels in the city’s crown.

Since blowing up close to fifteen years ago as a 'barely-out-of-his-bedroom' teen, the selector has quickly become a permanent fixture of the city’s party scene, boasting a residency resume few can compete with.

His early forays saw him a regular fixture in the Peacock bar around the turn of the last century, at a point where the bar was consistently delivering top quality house music on a weekly basis. Jimmy came under the tutelage of the bar’s resident Mr Paul, the pair dropping effervescent collages of gilt-edged grooves under the guise of Allen & Hutch, a sneaky nod to the mixer manufacturer.

When Paul started the famed Discoteca Poca party at the Shipping Forecast, arguably the city’s best venue at the time, he had Jimmy by his side. Together they played alongside an array of underground starlets, sharing the basement booth with Dusky, Dyed Soundorom, Ivan Smagghe, Prosumer, Maxxi Soundsystem, Late Night Tuff Guy, Waze & Odyssey and many more.

The duo then became regular players with the parties held by the WAXX crew, as Liverpool began to develop a scene outside the city centre in the Baltic district. These feted warehouse raves saw Jimmy DJ alongside further heavyweights of the scene, toughening his sound to go toe to toe with Ben Klock, Len Faki, Boddika, Tessla, Levon Vincent, Martyn, Rodhad, and more.

That led to a further residency at Jolt, round the corner at a slowly developing 24 Kitchen Street, and partnering with James Morgan to start Hustle at forgotten dancefloor den the Magnet. This indulged Jimmy’s soulful side, a precursor to the Liverpool Disco Festival which Morgan would start a few years later. Naturally, Jimmy was well placed to scoop plenty of appearances there, adding more glitterati to the artists he’d played alongside; Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Francois K, Derrick Carter, Louie Vega among them.

As Liverpool’s nightlife evolved, Jimmy stayed consistently ahead of the game, always capturing the zeitgeist, even throwing a capsule series of his own parties under the Four to the Floor guise with Hifi Sean, Bellaire and Black Loops.

With Liverpool fully on lock, Jimmy spread his wings further afield and to date has played at a variety of festivals, including Suncebeat, Kendal Calling, Southport Weekender, ADE Amsterdam, Parklife and Bugged Out Weekender. His set at the latter went down in infamy, replacing a late Skream for a pool party with hundreds of oblivious clubbers mistaking him for the dubstep pioneer turned house magnate. Not bad when you’re good enough to be confused as one of the greats.

And like any modern DJ, the dancefloor has been joined by the airwaves. Jimmy was one of the original DJs for Liverpool station Melodic Distraction as it first emerged in 2017, and he’s been an early adopter of another station Svara. The shows have followed the same mandate as his club sets, groove-heavy sounds borne from the dancefloor and always one step ahead of the curve.

Jimmy has now started a new venture with good friends Matt Walsh which is a weekly Electronic music event called FLOW held in Bar Bodega bringing lots of UK talent together.

Jimmy continues with several residencies including Gloria's and FLOW in Liverpool and further afield he can be seen, and more importantly heard, at Suncebeat, Southport Weekender and Paradisco. He has also had a very busy in 2025 with gigs in Portugal, Tenerife, Ibiza, Switzerland, London, Manchester & many more. And if all this wasn't enough, expect some big releases this year, adding to his already impressive back catalogue.

Long may he continue.
