St Pauls Carnival CIC Community Meeting at Docklands Community Centre, 29 Brigstocke Road BS2 8UA
Free to attend

A event on Thursday 25th September. The event starts at 18:15.

St Pauls Carnival has always been rooted in community created by, with, and for the people of St Pauls and the city`s wider African-Caribbean community. As St Pauls Carnival Community Interest Company (CIC) we are proud to be the custodians of this historic celebration, but we know that no one organisation can or should hold all of what Carnival represents. Our commitment is for the African-Caribbean community in Bristol, alongside the many partners, performers and volunteers who bring Carnival to life, will always shape its future.

We’re inviting you to join us for a Future of Carnival community meeting on 25th September, at Docklands Community Centre, 29 Brigstocke Road BS2 8UA. It will be an open event where we’ll come together to share views, perspectives, and aspirations for St Pauls Carnival’s future. This is your opportunity to help co-design the next chapter of Carnival, ensuring it remains a free, safe, and authentic celebration that reflects the community it serves.

On Carnival day this year, we were reminded of that spirit when the community brought Carnival back into the streets in their own way. This grassroots energy is part of what makes St Paul's Carnival so special, and we want to harness it as we move forward.

What to expect at the event:
• Open discussions about the future of Carnival, including ideas for sustainability, safety, and community ownership.
• Opportunities to get involved, including volunteering, partnerships, and creative contributions.
• Information about upcoming plans, including the planned recruitment of new board members in October to help lead Carnival into the future.
• A chance to connect with others who care deeply about Carnival and its legacy.

Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to the Carnival community, your voice matters. Let’s come together to shape a vision that honours the past, reflects the present, and builds a vibrant future for generations to come.
