A event on Thursday 28th September. The event starts at 18:30.

Floorwork 6-week beginner classes
Moving with flow, agility and efficiency into the ground.

We are offering a 6-week series (2hrs classes) ideal for beginners and those who have some experience with any physical practices, open to all who want to learn the basics and develop their corporeality.

Classes will be structured in a way to practice the basics and build on these skills.
Exploring pathways into the floor, on the floor and out of the floor. Breaking down movements, developing and adding variations. Drawing on the knowledge from developmental movement patterns, flying low and contemporary dance.
Using a combination of games, improvisational scores and tasks, drilling movement, learning pathways and sequences. Finding how the spine, head and pelvis connect with each other and the limbs, using gravity to complement our movement. Articulating bones, muscles and fascia, moving through spirals and animal locomotion patterns. Aiming to build strength and mobility in order to find flow in and out of the floor.
Expect to have fun, sweat and dance with others!

Bio:
Edwina is a dancer and massage therapist, she completed her dance training at Bath Spa University. She is continually influenced and learning from different movement practices like contemporary dance, capoeira and contact improvisation and is fascinated by the potentialities of the body.

Grace’s dance style is informed by contemporary and contact improvisation techniques, with a particular focus on low and ground-based movement and the principle of the centre of the body as the centre for movement. She recognizes the value of building core strength to aid in the discovery of new movement possibilities.
