Join us at East Bristol Books for the launch of Laura Blomvall's debut poetry pamphlet *Enter Moon*, published by Broken Sleep. With support from Suzannah V. Evans.
*Enter Moon* is a pamphlet of lyrical precision and imaginative reach, charting celestial and earthly landscapes with equal intensity. The collection moves fluidly between myth, history, and contemporary observation, drawing on Finnish heritage and a wide cultural lexicon to explore desire, mortality, and belonging. Blomvall’s deft command of imagery and sound animates figures from Venus to Hitchcock’s Birds, war ghosts to winter swimmers, while bilingual fragments heighten the work’s musical texture. The result is a constellation of formally varied poems that juxtapose intimacy and vastness, anchoring the cosmic in the material and personal.
Laura Blomvall is a Finnish poet and researcher living in Bristol. Her doctoral dissertation at the University of York examined the limits of lyric poetry in the twentieth century. Her poems have appeared in The Poetry Review, Propel Magazine, and elsewhere.*Enter Moon* is her first pamphlet.
Suzannah V. Evans is a poet, researcher, and educator. Her debut poetry collection is *Under the Blue* (Bloomsbury Poetry, September 2025). She is the author of *Brightwork* and *Marine Objects / Some Language*, and editor of the volume of translations *All Keyboards are Legitimate: Versions of Jules Laforgue* (Guillemot Press). A chapter of her work appears in Carcanet’s anthology *New Poetries VIII*, and her poems feature in New Statesman, The London Magazine, PN Review, and English: Journal of the English Association.
