A event on Thursday 14th August. The event starts at 19:00.

At EBB we are thrilled to host a late summer event with readings by Ian Macartney, Sam Jenks & special guest Shaw Worth, three authors associated with the dif collective and fine purveyors of “misfit gay literature & other queer s**t.”

dif is a growing network of writers and artists working on solo and collaborative projects exploring new directions in queer writing. It is LGBTQ+ focussed, but open to allies. As a holistic movement, it also engages with publishers, bookshops and readers. It is based in Bristol and Manchester but has developed worldwide online connections.

Ian Macartney is a West Lothian born poet and artist, one of the most luminous rising voices in the Scottish literary scene. Among other hybrid works, he has published *Shale Bings* (Broken Sleep, 2024), a collection of poems following desire paths through landscapes of queer adolescence, and *The Infinite Fury and other stories* (Strange Region, 2023), a catalogue of post-internet mythmaking, a discourse in Celtic surrealism, gay techno-hauntings, acid-mannerism, and sprawling, spitting hyper-fiction.

Sam Jenks writes gay, genre-bending fiction examining how queer people relate to and respond to the hetero-hegemonic urban and rural landscapes around them. His work is sexy, often funny, frequently dark and sometimes surreal. He is the founder-producer at DifF. His publications include *Robinson in Chronostasis - a surrealist psychogeographical non-romance* (Magdalen Yard Books, 2022), a fiction-photography collaboration, and *Test Tube Baby* (DifF White Label 001, 2024) among other collections of short stories.

Shaw Worth is a poet based in Oxford.Shaw Worth is a poet based in Oxford. He co-edited Meanwhile Magazine. His work has received commendations in the Foyle Young Poet of the Year competition and appeared in the Waltham Forest Poetry Competition anthology *close*. He was also included in the collection *World-dreem* (Sincere Corkscrew, 2021).
