Louis Alberry & JIAL at East Bristol Books

A gig on Thursday 19th February. The event starts at 19:00.

An evening of exploratory, acoustic guitar-based music by JIAL, presenting his debut album *Antlers*, and Louis Alberry, hot on the heels of his new album *Milk Teeth*.

JIAL
JIAL is the instrumental project of London-based guitarist, composer and educator Josh Lamdin. Blurring the line between composition and improvisation, his music is introspective, emotive and often nostalgic in character. In solo performance, Josh delivers intimate acoustic renditions of his compositions. Taking heavy influence from Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Folk and Americana, each performance is unique in its improvisational nature. Showcasing his musicality and virtuosity in its rawest form, he plays with a control and emotional weight alluring to listeners both of, and outside the genre. JIAL's debut album, *Antlers*, will be released on February 17th, and features Ben Tunnicliffe on double bass and Charlie Ian Russell on drums.

LOUIS ALBERRY
Louis Alberry is a guitarist and songwriter from the rugged Jurassic Coast of Dorset. Alberry writes exploratory songs that weave together fingerpicked folk, jazz harmony, wonky grooves and dusky vocals. The resulting tapestry recalls Nick Drake, Linda Perhacs, Caetano Veloso, JJ Cale, moving nimbly through diverse and verdant musical landscapes.
Alberry released his second album, *Milk Teeth*, in December 2025 on Bristol alt-folk label Cuculi Records. While 2019's self-titled instrumental debut established Alberry as an exceptional guitarist and arrestingly atmospheric composer, *Milk Teeth* finds him delving deeper into an autobiographical mode and pulling out a clutch of haunting, charming songs with lyrics that strike a careful balance of confessional and cryptic. The album charts a compelling voyage through explorations of childhood, loss of innocence, growth and acceptance, set amid a carefully woven tangle of guitars and a subtly psychedelic haze.
