Join us at EBB to celebrate the launch of Suzannah V Evans new poetry pamphlet *How Running Is*, published by Guillemot Press. Suzannah will be supported by Erica Hesketh, whose collection *To An Unknown Receiver* came out recently, also on Guillemot Press.

*How Running Is* (original title: *How Running Is and Isn’t Like Other Things*) considers the erotics of running and how it feels to live and move in a body. A study of repetition and metaphor, the sequence is interested in the body as an emblem of constraint and freedom – two principles between which poetry oscillates. These prose poems are experiments in the forward momentum of the sentence, alert to the intimacies of embodied experience and invested in questions of energy, pacing, and sensation.

Suzannah V. Evans is a poet, researcher, and educator. Her debut Bloomsbury Poetry collection *Under the Blue* (2025) was shortlisted for the International Dylan Thomas Prize, and her work has received the Ivan Juritz Prize and a Northern Writers’ Award. A chapter of her work appears in Carcanet’s anthology New Poetries VIII, and her poems feature in New Statesman, Poetry London, Literary Review, and English: Journal of the English Association. She is the author of *Brightwork* and *Marine Objects / Some Language*, and her third poetry pamphlet is titled *How Running Is* (Guillemot Press, September 2026).

Erica Hesketh is a poet and editor based in London. Her debut collection *In the Lily Room* was came out in 2025 on Nine Arches Press and her pamphlet *To an Unknown Receiver: Sonnets & Cascades* was published by Guillemot Press in 2026. She edited *Living in Language: International reflections for the practising poet*** (Poetry Translation Centre, 2024) and co-authored with Laura Sampson *Moon, Snow, Blossom: Wintry Tales from Across Japan*** (Elliott & Thompson, 2026).
