'Visually Stunning'. - Dazed
East Bristol Cinema and We Are Parable present... Sampha, "Process" Visual Album - a breathtaking film following the UK singer, by video artist Kahlil Joseph, director of Beyonce's Lemonade and Kendrick Lamar's good Kid, m.A.A.d city.
One of the most beautiful homegrown visual albums, “Process” takes us through the mind of singer songwriter Sampha in both Freetown, Sierra Leone and Merton, South London. A dreamlike patchwork portrait of his life across continents this film explores belonging, love and grief, with surreal moments of spirituality and revelation.
This event will include a screening of the album and poetry and performance from local artists.
Birdspeed is Triple Crowned UK Spoken Word Champion 2019. Effortlessly weaving poetry, storytelling, satirical humour and movement, she will share a special performance in response to the concept of the black visual album.
