Bristol Palestine Film Festival proudly presents a community screening of Wajib, followed by a discussion. We particularly welcome members of the Palestinian and wider Arabic-speaking communities in Bristol.

DATE: Saturday November 23rd
TIME: Doors open 17:30 , film begins at 17:45 (1 hr 30 mins), followed by a short break and 30 minute discussion. Event ends approx 20:15.
LOCATION: Easton Community Centre

WAJIB:

A father and his estranged son must come together to hand deliver his daughter's wedding invitations to each guest as per local Palestinian custom, in this rousing family drama from Annemarie Jacir (When I Saw You).

The film is subtitled and is not suitable for children under 14 due to violent scenes and language.

فيلم واجِب من إخراج آن ماري جاسر (لما شفتك) يقدم لمحة عميقة عن الحياة الفلسطينية من خلال استعراض العلاقات العائلية. يجتمع الأب وابنه المنفصل عنه لتوزيع بطاقات دعوة زفاف الابنة شخصيًا وفقًا للتقاليد الفلسطينية، فتظهر خلال الرحلة توترات قديمة، ومواقف مضحكة، ولحظات إنسانية مؤثرة
