Don Kapot at Elmer’s Arms
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Contender for free entry gig of the year?! Red hot free-jazz kraut-punk unleashed on bass, feral baritone sax and drums. Angular Kuti-inspired polyrhythms meet Brötzmann-worthy freakouts - this’ll fry your brain (or your money back). Essential FFO: Sons of Kemet, the Ex, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, Zu."

Don Kapot are a Brussels-based power trio of Giotis Damianidis on bass, Viktor Perdieus on baritone saxophone and keys, and Jakob Warmenbol on drums. Genres linked to them are jazz, artpunk, krautrock and afrobeat (unsurprising as Damianidis has worked with Kologbo and Tony Allen amongst others).

Don Kapot’s last album « I Love Tempo » mixed by Greg Saunier (Deerhof) was released by WERF Records in 2023. Their new EP « Remedy » is set for release on 15th November in line with this UK tour.

"Compact, hard and pointedly direct" Jazzwise (UK)
"Clenched energy where every wall between genres is demolished” Dansende Beren (BE)
“Sometimes angular, often hypnotic, always with the head on” Knack (BE)
“Catchy melodies and infectious grooves” Bandcamp Daily (USA)
“I uttered loudly to myself: Wow this is bloody ugly beautiful music!" DPRP (BE)
