Extra Terrestrial Promotions & Velvet Echoes are proud to present Birmingham based and self-confessed witchy alt rock (and roller) Genevieve Miles; An artist building a swift and strong reputation for herself as a rising star, sure to keep your eyes on. Known for her powerful vocals and unforgettable live shows, inspired by the likes of Talking Heads, Wolf Alice and Courtney Barnett, Miles is “a true artist of today's generation” (Local and Live). Special guests on the evening include blues-infused indie act The Roebucks, and local singer/songwriter Sorcha.

Genevieve Miles

Together with her 5-piece band, Genevieve's live shows are energising, joyous, affirming, therapeutic occasions to sing, dance and heal. “What a great night, all passion and angst… Patti Smith and P J Harvey Rolled into one."

Her music has been featured on a Hyundai advert, selected on BBC Introducing’s Top Tracks of the year, and endorsed by Goose and Gander.

Past gigs include opening for Ellur, Low Island, Megan Wyn and Danny Mellin as well as slots at Camp Bestival, Truck Festival, The Great Escape, Wychwood Festival and Birmingham's What's Happenin Festival. Her wide range of influences was also celebrated when Fontaines D.C shared her cover of their song ‘I Don’t Belong’ for the online Rock the Breadline fundraiser.

On the live experience, Genevieve says: "I love throwing myself around on stage and shouting as loud as I can: it's for all those years that I stayed quiet, didn’t get mad, people pleased. This is the time of the wild woman: we are loud, emotional, ALIVE."

New EP ‘then it gets worse’ (released 14th November) was celebrated with two packed shows at Truck Store, Oxford and The Night Owl, Birmingham. The EP has already gained support from BBC Introducing in Oxfordshire and West Midlands, including a BBC Introducing live session.
