"Leaving a trail of slow-mo dancehall, pulverised techno, sports-themed ambient and b-boy EBM in his wake.... Low Jack is 10 producers-in-one and a finger to anyone who thinks you need to 'stick to your guns'. Three of Bristol's outsider promoters, industrial fire-starters SLACK ALICE, dub futurists Bokeh Versions and 'post-everything' Schwet bring him to the Exchange alongside Cera Khin - equally undefinable Noods Radio resident and leader of LazyTapes, responsible for nightmarish chill-out tapes and releasing Peder Mannerfelt's latest and greatest 12". Low Jack {2 hour set}
(Paris via Honduras)
[L.I.E.S Records, Modern Love, The Trilogy Tapes, In Paradisum]
Philippe Hallais AKA Low Jack has been a long time favourite of ours, both as a producer and DJ. Releasing 5 albums to date on some of the world's finest electronic labels, his productions are equally influenced by electro, footwork, abstract hip-hop and dancehall as they are by experimental noise, industrial and musique concrète.
Most recently he's joined Dominick Fernow (Prurient) as a member of Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, though he's also released chopped/screwed EBM as B-Ball Joints and glistening drones'n'tones under his own name.
Alongside Jean Carval he runs the essential Editions Gravats, one of the most exciting labels out there, where they unleash wild mixtapes as well as music from Black Zone Myth Chant, Clara! and Èlg.
Check some of his ridiculous mixes on SC, including a 4-week residency for Rinse.fm in January...https://soundcloud.com/low-jack

"Cera Khin is a selectress from Berlin via Tunisia who doesn't follow trends or rules. Bored of mindless club attitude and inspired by all kinds of crucial rhythms, soundsystem culture, eastern sounds, ambient bangers and rave music."
