Who?

www.soundcloud.com/kittenandthehip

Live duo formed of Kitten Quinn and Ashley Slater (Freak Power). Take a beautiful and fantastic singer, add a world class horn section and some pumping backing tracks. Throw in some Electro Swing, some R&B, a bit of camp Disco, a dollop of Drum and Bass a smidge of Dubstep, add some brilliant hooky pop songs and there you have Kitten and The Hip.

Formed in 2011, their first single"Don't You Worry" was signed by HedKandi and did pretty well! Second single"Shut Up And Dance" was recently released this Year on 3star Deluxe along with a cool and quirky video and some fab remixes included.

2013 saw them make festival appearances at Glastonbury, Nozstock, Boomtown and Shambala, amongst others as well as supporting the likes of Caravan Palace!

Live, they are a three piece, with a drummer, Kitten singing and Ashley playing brass and on vocals too. Kitten is a natural onstage, at once mesmerising and seductive! It's a party with class, so don't forget your ass!

A member of the http://www.electro-swing.com team and founder of Austria's Billybong Records, J rgen Bernert-Jagfeld AKA Cab Canavaral is the DJ with a saxophone. A member of Austria's number one Swing combo 5 in Love, he started to work as a DJ when he hosted Vienna's first regular swing event"Klub Shwing" at Ost Klub. Due to his knowledge and musicality he became one of the favourite Swing DJs in Town. He mixes traditional Swing, old Rhythm & Blues, Neo Swing, Gypsy and Ska, so his sets are quite eclectic, interesting and always swinging!

We're proud to welcome back to the Catgroove stage our new resident Howla. A master of funk, James Howell merges Swing, Funk and Bass to such a high level we just had to get him in. 2013 saw released on Scour Records and Ghetto Funk as well as supporting the likes of Stickybuds, Featurecast, Too Many T's, Deekline, and The Ghetto Funk Allstars.

www.soundcloud.com/f-block

Joining the Catgroove roster for 2014 comes Back to Basskicks and Womp resident F-Block. Determined to not be pigeon-holed into one genre, Cardiff based F-Block play anything as long as it's got a bit of funk and a decent helping of bass. He's played at Glastonbury, Beach Break Live and Wakestock, as well as supporting big name legends in Cardiff such as Krafty Kuts, A.Skillz, Ed Solo & JFB, and he's held residencies at Buffalo Bar, 10 Feet Tall, Cardiff Student's Union, Gwdihw, Cardiff Arts Institute and many others.
