Lessens
A Bristol-based three-piece formed in 2019, Lessens’ ethos of reverb-drenched
reductivism serves up brooding quiet and haunting melancholy. Spacious textures
traverse the gamut from sombre to seismic, with sporadic eruptions of vitriol and almost accidental happiness. This ethos is inspired not just by the ceaseless noise of modern life, but by the tension between beauty, fragility and anxiety. It’s about clarity, simplification and sparsity. What emerges from that framework falls somewhere between post-punk and post-rock.
You Need Ghosts
YNG are a post-punk/alt-noise four-piece, who have been creating a buzz around
their hometown of Bristol with their blisteringly energetic, 25-minute gigs. Think clipped guitars that are looking for trouble, escape-velocity drums, ferociously fuzz-fuelled bass and vocals full of blaze and brimstone. They recently released their
debut single, Work and Movement (https://youtu.be/kxyo6MdNSlA), with a second
single due to be released in December. You can find You Need Ghosts on Facebook

The Leontini Vernacular (TLV)
Formed in late 2020 by Gregory Jameswood (previously of Lessens & Nossiennes), The Leontini Vernacular (TLV) began life with the release of Anthropause EP on Shore Dive Records - described as “Dystopian shoegaze at its finest” (BBC Introducing). Now, after only two Gravy Train gigs with a new lineup including Finn Hodgson (Grandchild) and Giuseppe La Rezza (Borrowed Atlas), TLV are set to release new material recorded at Humm Studios capturing their raw power-trio sound encompassing elements of shoegaze, indie, pop-rock and dream. Dealing with shadowy aspects of love and loss, the new AMLA EP will be out Jan 6th on Shore Dive Records.
