ULRIKA SPACEK + BROADSHEETS + BLUDUD at Exchange

A gig held at Exchange on Saturday 10th October. The event starts at 19:45.

ULRIKA SPACEK

Ulrika Spacek return with their fourth album, EXPO — an antidote to the loneliness of hyper-individualism and an exploration of collective creativity.

Built around off-kilter melodies, jagged guitars and cirrus-cloud atmospherics, the album reflects the band’s close-knit creative process and their connection to a wider community of artists.

Musically, EXPO pushes Ulrika Spacek’s art-rock foundations into new territory, balancing analogue warmth with electronic experimentation, self-sampling and glitchy textures. The result is a warped reflection of modern life — human warmth meeting digital isolation, welcoming yet alienating.

EXPO embodies the thrill of the unknown and the particular magic that comes from making art together.

BROADSHEETS

Inspired by the narcotised crawl of trip-hop and the nocturnal moods of slowcore, Broadsheets weave together layers of electronics loops and corroded guitars into haunting soundscapes equal parts visceral and atmospheric.

BLUDUD

South-west 4-piece Bludud make songs in a shed. Their songs are shaped by whichever instruments the fluid quartet picked up that day. Bludud’s sound sits between folk-rock and alt-rock - underpinned by the electric guitar, linear drumming, half-spoken, half-sung lyrics - sometimes there are drum machines, bowed bass and violins. They have been playing tunes from their forthcoming debut record bludud around Bristol for much of 2025-2026, to some acclaim.
