Schwetfest 2.0 at Exchange

A gig held at Exchange on Saturday 16th July. The event starts at 15:00pm.

Cacophonous Sarcophagus & Fat Paul Presents a feast of experimental, obscure and adventurous music from Bristol & beyond.
Across two Saturdays in July (2nd and 16th), we hope to showcase the best in Bristol's sub-underground. Hopefully it'll work as a platform for people try out new projects/sets and possibly push the boat out a little more than they would usually dare. There will be some familiar faces, as well as many you've never seen or heard before, but I promise it's all worth checking out. Come down and support those who are really trying something different!

Expect sounds from the outer-limits;
Many flavors of drone, free jazz, fetishistic body-horror technot, electro-acoustic mini/maximalism, Spanish baroque modular, krautfunk, black feedback skree, ritualistic performance, algo-rhythmic noise, lots of synths and the general unclassifiable...

The DSC
"An eight-piece collective with an electromagnetic stage presence, Domestic Sound Cupboard come together to create improvised music from scratch, chaos very much embraced. Each performer in DSC brings their own perspective and background to the melting pot, clashing and combining in anarchic new forms: vocals, brass, drums, lo-fi synth noises and live-laptop spikes and soundbaths.
Every month DSC hosts a night (The Sound Cupboard) at the Crofters Rights on Stokes Croft, which has been gathering a following as a haven for improvisers and sonic mavericks."

"Saltings is a Bristol-based music collective formed in 2015, specialising in improvisatory, electronic, ambient and drone music. Founded by Andrew Cooke (live programming and synths) and Caitlin Alais Callahan (double bass) and Liz Muir (cello).
Musical soundscapes, drones and aural experiments that evoke the eerie of everyday life... Saltings aim to tentatively address the unknown areas of existence that lie just around the next turn, or beyond the corner of your eye."

LTO
A solo electronic producer based in Bristol, LTO first garnered attention in 2011 as part of the Old Apparatus collective with their abstract experimental bass-driven music, submerged in swirls and fragments of otherworldly static and interference.
Now working on solo music as well as with the collective, LTO’s first release was the characteristically mysterious 'No Pasa Nada' EP in 2015 - a heady cloud of greyscale sound design, ghostly timbres and deep sonics. LTO returns this year with his debut solo LP ‘The Number From Which All Things Come’ on Old Apparatus’s own Sullen Tone label.

SWIR
"Electronic beeps and bleeps interweave with traditional songs from far-flung places, against a backdrop of plucked strings and ambient textures. Could get noisy!"
