Born and bred in idyllic Marlborough, New Zealand, Daily J has grown its own unique sound,
offering blissful blends of dreamy, swirling melodies, warm basslines, and a hazy pop
electronica influence that leaves you feeling swooned – the perfect soundtrack to your
golden hour.
Consisting of brothers Jayden, Jonny and Jesse Paul alongside musical soulmate Rick, the
band have been riding the waves of a fast-growing local and international audience since they first splashed onto the scene late in 2017.
Their debut EP ‘The Other Side’ was swiftly followed by crowd sing-along favourites such as
‘Left Me Like Summer’ and ‘Skylah’ which both featured on the release of their debut
album ‘Venus Ate Mars’ in November of 2020. The band continued exploring new sonic
territory with the emotionally rich two-part album ‘Slush Honey’ released throughout 2022 and 2023.
Building on two sold-out Australian tours and over 48M streams in 2023, the band had an
even bigger 2024. They reached new heights by selling out their debut UK tour, and upon
their return to NZ, they completed their third studio album ‘Scatterbrains’. The record marked a shift - stepping into darker, more introspective spaces, tying up loose ends and acknowledging life’s storms. Singles like ‘Tastes Like Forever’ and ‘Sunday Stitches’ climbed the NZ charts, resonating deeply with fans for their emotional honesty and sonic richness.
Moving to Sydney in late 2025, Daily J** then released a deluxe edition of ‘Scatterbrains’, which landed them fans across US college radio, with both singles and the EP hitting the NACC charts. After a December trip back home for family, festivals and the familiar radiance of a kiwi summer, the band headed into the studio to craft their next body of work to be released throughout 2026, featuring some of their most compelling and confident work yet.
Through all of life’s chaos, their music offers something rare: a sense of calm, empathy, and escape. Whether in sunshine or rain, Daily J reminds us we’re never truly alone.
