Since its formation in 2019, Slowski has cycled through a few different iterations and relocated across the country. The founding duo, guitarist/producer David Brown and vocalist Elliot Winter, have now firmly established a base in Bristol. Last year, they recruited Bristol-based drummer Joey Cooke to complete the lineup.

Taking inspiration from a wide range of genres including psychedelic rock, electronic music, indie, and post-punk, the band have been working with Connor Jones of Humm Studios in Bristol for vocals and drums, with guitars and mixing handled by Alexandre Hurr at The Axe & Trap in Wells.

Their studio efforts first culminated in ‘Bone Music’, a stomping and swaggering single released towards the end of last year, ushering in a new dynamic era for the trio. The track takes its name from a Soviet-era method of bootlegging records that was pioneered by innovative sound engineer Ruslan Bogoslowski, from whom the band derives their name.

The upcoming single, ‘Send Me The Link’, a further collaboration with Jones and Hurr, draws from military drum samples of 90s hip-hop, dreamy guitar melodies, and garage rock. Written during lockdown, the lyrics explore themes of sleep paralysis, spectatorship, and freedom of thought within moments of stillness. The song is set for release on Thursday 18th April.

Entry requirements: 14+, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
