Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Newcastle’s answer to San Fran/Laurel Canyon-style folk-psych, Scott Hepple and the Sun Band bounce from the garage to the basement fresh off a summer support slot for iconic 60s rock n’ rollers Love. Wailing guitars and soul-tinged caterwauls lovingly channelling the spirit of West Coast counterculture. FFO: Ty Segall, King Tuff, Dead Ghosts."

SCOTT HEPPLE AND THE SUN BAND
With support from LAMBRIDGE

7.30pm doors
Tickets £6 adv / £8 OTD

Scott Hepple and the Sun Band are a psychedelic rock band from Newcastle, UK. The band favours a 60's/70's sound, with influences including Neil Young, Black Sabbath, The Beatles and Ty Segall.

After playing with the legendary psych band LOVE and playing Jack White's London venue Third Man Records in the summer, they will release debut album "Ashes to Wildflowers" on September 22nd and play headlining concerts in London, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam, among many other headline shows across UK/Europe. A limited colour vinyl run will be sold in selected indie record shops, as well as via the band's website and will be available to buy from the merch desk on the UK/EU tour dates. The album was recorded analogue by Duncan Lloyd (Maximo Park) and mastered by renowned engineer Carl Saff (Sonic Youth, J Mascis, Ty Segall).

"The album's main theme of reincarnation goes hand in hand with the production" Scott says. "I wanted to produce the overdriven raw analogue sound that was rife in the late 60's/early 70s, which is where I take a lot of my inspiration from."
