Bristol Synth Freaks presents an evening of Synthwave with Phoenix-Flare, Concrete Disco and more live electronica TBC.

Phoenix-Flare

Since the release of their last EP “Edges” in May 2020 the Bristol electronic act have been working on creating their follow up EP - Waves. Their next single - All the Things - will be released in time for their October 2026 gig. Their distinctive atmospheric and moody Synthwave is available on Bandcamp and other streaming sites.

Phoenix-Flare’s music has been described as:-
“Heart strings being plucked by robots”, “Epic retro feelings with a big modern vision, “A real eye for filling up the sonic spectrum from bass to tops,” “Lots of ace genre blending.””Some pop, some techno, dubstep, new age, dark wave.”

The haunting and intimate quality of the duo’s songs has drawn comparisons with other classic synth pop acts. Check them out on their next live outing.

This gig marks a development of their live sound as they will be joined by a drummer using a hybrid electronic and acoustic kit.

Concrete Disco

Concrete Disco's third album As the Crow Flies was released in September 2025, with Otherside Reviews writing "I need to see this band live...trust me that this is a record you need in your collection."

The Bristol based electronica trio is led by multi-instrumentalist and chief songwriter Jonny Wharton, aka Jonny Falls Over, alongside brothers Joe (keys/laptop) and Dom Cusack (drums/samplers).

The band's music weaves between punchy electronic indie-pop for the end times, raucous mashups, and breakbeat-driven workouts. At turns their music draws from the driving synths and drums of Moderat, the swagger of Soulwax, and the claustrophobic atmospheres of latter-day Radiohead.

As an electrifying live act Concrete Disco have built up a dedicated following, most recently supporting The Orb on tour. The band are experienced performers and a surefire hit with a festival crowd, offering a potent blend of hard-hitting beats, socially conscious lyrics, and party-starting mashups. They have taken their high-octane show to Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party, The Borderline and The Roundhouse, also supporting Deadmau5, Modestep, Plump DJs, Beardyman and others along the way.
