Codices at Exchange

A gig held at Exchange on Sunday 29th September. The event starts at 19:00.

Blowout Presents

- Codices -

Codices have carved out and unusual sound for themselves; not quite math rock, not quite post rock, with big chaotic riffs and careful deliberations in equal measure. The closest bands you could compare them to would be And So I Watch You From Afar, Brontide, The Physics House Band and Russian Circles.

They have performed at the likes of ArcTanGent, Portals, Weird and Wonderful, Upgefukt and Little Cavalier festivals, as well as embarking on two UK tours and supporting the likes of Totorro, The Fierce and the Dead, Hikes and Body Hound

In 2020, the band went into the studio to record their debut album, produced by Tom Morley (Delta Sleep, Olympians, Suffer Like G Did) which they released in Oct 2021. Filled with unease and triumpth in equal measure, the record, titled "Vivid, meshes light and darkness with ferocity and precision, flickering in and out of consciousness like a fever dream.

This year, they do a small UK run, hitting up London, Nottingham, Manchester and finishing in Bristol.
