An experimental amalgam of metal, math, no-wave, noise and electronics, led acclaimed composer John Zorn to describe their sound as "a powerful and expressive music that totally blows away what most bands do these days".
Over a history of 2000+ live shows, they have shared the stage with the likes of Faith No More, Fantomas, The Melvins, Lightning Bolt, Sonic Youth, The Ex, etc. They have also collaborated with a vast number of musicians including Mike Patton, The Melvins, Dälek, Jim O' Rourke, FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Peter Brötzmann, Eugene S. Robinson (Oxbow), Steve MacKay (The Stooges), The Ex, Thurston Moore, Stephen O Malley, Damo Suzuki (Can), Mats Gustafsson, NoMeansNo, Joe Lally (Fugazi).
They return in 2017 with a new LP 'Jhator', inspired conceptually by Tibetan funeral practices, as well as sonically paying tribute to the cinematic sounds of English post-industrial group Coil.

Jessica Moss
(Montreal, Canada)
Touring with the band (as well as recording for the latest album) is Jessica Moss. She also presents a unique and mesmerizing solo performance of violin, vocals and effects. In her performances Jessica draws on all of her considerable and varied experiences as a violinist and makes use of elements of drone, repetition, music concrete, and some classical forms. She has studied the Jewish music of her heritage, and some Arabic Maqams. The music can travel seamlessly from distorted rock sounds to soft chiming waves, and it all works beautifully within the context of expressing the narrative.
Best known as a permanent member of Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, she is also a founding member of Black Ox Orkestar and a featured collaborator with some of Montreal’s best known bands and performers. Most recently she joined the band Big ‡ Brave for their debut record out on Southern Lord Recordings.

Dead Neanderthals
(Nijmegen, Netherlands)
[Utech Records, Raw Tonk Records, Grindcore Karaoke]
Super exited to welcome back Dead Neanderthals, after a legendary set at Old Market Music Festival in 2015. Leaders of "The New Wave of Dutchy Heavy Jazz", they've quickly established themselves as one of the most extreme acts you can viably call 'jazz'. Combing elements of grindcore, drone, electronica, noise and minimalism, they are constantly shifting in sonic palette and group size. From the 8-piece epic 'Endless Voids' to collaborative releases with the likes of Sly & The Family Drone or Machinefabrikm, to the infamous Prime (with Colin Webster, whom will also perform for us in Bristol), they are always looking for new forms and sounds to abuse!
