Tuesday 28th January. What an announcement! Fruit @fruitband_ will be docking in the fine harbour of Bristol. One of the most exceptional bands to come out of Liverpool/Manchester/The Midlands in recent years, it is sure to be an auditory and visual treat. Local support from the electronic polymaths Vacant Shores @vacantshores , plus a special Shipzy @shipzysails sized treat.
Fruit
Formed in late 2022, Fruit are a five-piece band based in the North-West of England (Manchester/Liverpool). The band started in Leicester where musicians Josh Withers (vocals), Jimmy Danger (Baritone Guitar), and Alex Hemley (bass) began writing together through a shared passion for experimental music. The three moved to the north, going on to recruit Finn Alderson (Guitar) and George Dimmock (drums) who had been involved in their own local scenes in Norwich and Kent respectively. Though the band haven't been playing together long they have quickly developed a recognisable sound, packed with swathes of dissonance, noise, and poetry. The combination of these elements has so far culminated in their debut single 'Bleak' released February 17th. https://hashbrandnew.com/Artists/Fruit https://www.instagram.com/fruitband_/

Shipzy
Shipzy a.k.a. James Timmins is a high-performance performance artist from the post-industrial British Midlands. A former senior change management consultant and semi-professional endurance athlete, he is now bringing his incessant drive and growth mindset to the subterranean world of alternative music. His live shows veer from catchy pop to garage punk, with plenty of mid-set chat and storytelling. Sometimes there are PowerPoint presentations, and the occasional game that requires audience participation. His debut EP on Caravela Records deals with agonising nihilism of the post-truth age, and is heavily influenced by a recent near-death experience whilst e-biking in the Austrian Tyrol, and his subsequent immersion in the avant-garde literature of Timothy “4-Hour” Ferris. Join him on this cathartic journey, or in the immortal words of Martin Heidegger, “Get on your bikes and ride!”. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4RAb6RSLKkiH5E0TQBPEvJ https://www.instagram.com/shipzysails/
