Bleary Eyed is a shoegaze band formed in 2015 by frontman Nathaniel Salfi (guitar, vocals). Emerging from the DIY scenes of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the band has undergone numerous artistic evolutions over the years. Through constant experimentation, Bleary Eyed has grown into a sound that feels distinctly their own—carving out a unique space within shoegaze through a hazy, sample-heavy, computer-pop atmosphere.

In 2025, the band released their third LP, Easy, via Born Losers Records. The album was widely acclaimed, with Stereogum naming it one of the “Top 10 Best Shoegaze Albums of 2025,” landing at number two. Following its release, Bleary Eyed embarked on their largest North American headlining tour to date, performing to their biggest crowds yet.

After returning home, the band caught the attention of North Carolina act Wednesday, whom they joined for a European tour in 2026. Around the same time, fellow Philadelphia shoegaze band Nothing invited them to perform at their annual Slide Away Festival alongside Hum. Bleary Eyed is also slated to appear at Cold Waves Festival in Chicago in September 2026, supporting Failure.

Bleary Eyed have been mastering their craft for years, but it feels like they’re just getting started, as they continue to shine in a crowded shoegaze scene.
