CHAI WALLAHS PRESENT:

RAUCOUS... A NIGHT OF FOLK SOUL BLUES POP PUNK ROCK REGGAE SKA

WILL & THE PEOPLE
Only the strongest brotherhoods emerge from ten years of triumph and tragedy more passionately devoted to the cause than ever. Through car crashes and international smashes, onstage magic and offstage losses, Will And The People – a creative community as much as a band – have maintained an intense faith and self-belief in the power of their music, and are roaring out of their darkest days hellbent on a bright horizon.

Originally starting out as Punk Ska band it wasn’t long before they started experimenting with their sound leading to a fuller dub-pop aesthetic. From there whilst exploring their interest in expansive psychedelia
they slipped into surrealist psych-polka-pop phase then rolled into electro rock whilst venturing into a futuristic R&B concoction adorned with gritty soul vibes, Muse-like robo-rock riffs and operatic backing choirs with the occasional politically minded sleaze rocker track or some brooding, Arabian-inflected grooves. Then came the a new phase.. enigmatic folk, hard rock, pop and, most notably, hip-hop whilst looking to bridge the gap of Lil Peep in his bedroom and Arctic Monkeys in a massive studio.

Their latest sound is powerful and unique combination of punky ska hip-hop grooves with a mixture of rocky, heavy and dirty guitars and hip-hop drums

All in all, Will And The People are on an endless creative mission to expressing everything they’ve ever been inspired by and that which comes from their own unlimited souls. Perhaps this is just what makes them such a thoroughly exciting and entertaining band to follow.
BARE JAMS
Bare Jams captures the sounds of that one summer you’ll never forget. The band has grown and evolved from the modest duo busking in 2011, into the full fat festival force it is today.
Now a six strong collective, the members come together to blend a tight fusion of genres, seamlessly mixing flavours of reggae, dub, soul, pop and ska into a unique, collaborative sound.
This sound is delivered with exuberance and relentless energy, creating a stage presence radiating love and good times. Never losing this joie de vivre, their multifaceted lyrics offer insight into a journey of highs and lows, struggles and triumphs; their veiled metaphors provide listeners with the opportunity to find solace in their own interpretations of the words, coupled with a solid backbone of eternal optimism which is delivered via the music.
Headlining their own UK and Dutch club shows, as well as supporting The Wailers, La Pegatina, Will and the People, Tankus the Henge and most recently the mighty Chainska Brassika.
POTTS MUSIC
Potter’s been around the block……maybe more than once, no one’s really sure.

A natural soul singer, lyrically honest with a penchant for a catchy chorus, Potts is as happy on his own with a guitar and kick drum as he is fronting a heavy band.

Since cutting his teeth as a guitarist and singer on the festival and live circuit across Europe and the UK, he has immersed himself in the world of theatre, shifting the context of his practise with great success gaining critical acclaim for his work as a composer and performer alike. Now, having begun writing and recording his debut solo project, armed with a bunch of new songs, Potts is back doing what he loves most; Performing live to the people.

Expect carefully crafted songs, unforgettable riffs and virtuosic guitar playing all wrapped up in a soaring tenner vocal.
