Worm Disco Club: Ruby Rushton + ILL Considered

— Fiddlers
A double headline JAZZ special with two incredible London based acts.
price: Tickets Below

We return to Fiddlers, one of Bristol's best live music venues, to bring you a JAZZ SPECIAL with not one, but two guest headline acts - Ruby Rushton and ILL Considered.

Jazz from the UK is currently enjoying a good moment both at home and abroad and these are two acts we've had our eye on for some time now. Those familiar with them, will know exactly why we are so excited to bring them to Bristol!!

ILL Considered are a London-based 4-piece who create and improvise live both on stage and in the studio, with most shows consisting of material entirely created on the spot in front of the audience. With no less than 9 (!) full length recordings all released to vinyl since 2017 (also available on their Bandcamp) - this band have been making big moves over the last few years!

The group comprises of Idris Rahman (Tenor Sax), Satin Singh (Percussion), Leon Brichard (Bass) and Emre Ramazanoglu (Drums). Skronk, Free-Form, Death Jazz elements are in the mix in contrast to more delicate melodies & modal intertwining developing sections run with deep grooves. The result practically breaks all the rules that you think you may know about music.

The band have been playing lots in London as well as many gigs across the EU. Shabaka Hutchings invited them to play his day of cuated music at Le Guess Who? festival lat November!

We're super excited to bring them to Bristol for the very first time!

And now for Ruby Rushton!

They are part of the South London Collective 22a Music.

Led by multi-instrumentalist Tenderlonious, they draw their influence from Soulful and Spiritual Jazz, Be-Bop, Hip Hop & Afrobeat and a strong hint towards the British Jazz sound of the late sixties.

For fans of Mo Kolours, John Coltrane,Dave Brubeck, Pharaoh Sanders, Yussef Kamaal...Yussef Dayes was the original Ruby Rushton drummer!

This is their first date of the tour for their new album 'Iron Side' recorded at Abbey Road studios no less. We're hoping they will have a few advance copies with them when they come down!

Check out some of the new music here;

For this event we will be back at the mighty Fiddlers venue, with their fantastic in-house sound system, and all three resident Worms on warm up/dance down DJ duties.

Bands will be on between 10.30 and 1am!
