A
clubnight
held at Fiddlers
on Saturday 28th September. The event starts at 21:00.
- OUR BIGGEST PARTY YET!
It's going to be five years to the day since we hosted our first ever Worm Disco Club and in celebration of this, we're gonna have a good ol' dance and we'd love for YOU to join us!
During this time we've hosted nights all over Bristol with DJs from Portugal, Brazil, France & Amsterdam plus bands & musicians from Colombia, Cuba, Nigeria, Morocco, Brazil, Holland & Germany as well as cutting edge contemporary acts from the UK such as The Heliocentrics, The Comet is Coming, Joe Armon-Jones etc...
For our 5th birthday we return to the institution that is Fiddlers, with a lineup that we reckon sums up everything we are about here at Worm Disco Club.
~~Mr Bongo~~
Mr Bongo are the team behind the Brighton shop & record label of the same name and are this year celebrating 30 years in the game! They are legends!
We have wanted to get these guys along to play some of their super rare, classic and very funky records for a good while. Digging for, and beautifully repackaging lots of juicy and hard-to-find gems from West Africa and Brazil amongst other places, Mr Bongo have continued to remain very much relevant and have the killer tunes to make you move.
Having discovered this band via Tom Robinson on 6 music, we instantly knew we had to get them to Bristol! Kongo Dia Ntotila’s sound is a blend of Africa’s finest dance music styles revived, modernised, and seamlessly fused with a hefty dose of Jazz!
Led by the incredible Kinshasa (DR Congo) born musician Mulele Matondo and founded ten years ago, the recent addition of a new brass section brings the group a new hybrid sound. A colourful blend of Central African dance vibes with Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Latin grooves, and improvisation. KdN embody full African-joy through Soukous style guitars, dancing bass, powerful brass, and beautiful harmonic vocals. These guys will get the party started!
