Chicago hip-hop brass outfit Hypnotic Brass Ensemble return to Bristol for an explosive live show. The 8 horn-playing brothers – all sons of pioneering jazz trumpeter Kelan Phil Cohran (Sun Ra’s Arkestra) – have worked with the likes of Prince, Mos Def and Gorrilaz. Raucous and red-hot, the HBE sound summons the spirit of New Orleans big-band jazz, shot through with rap, funk and hip-hop, and moments of “fervent and prayerful beauty” (All About Jazz).
