See event details

A event on Saturday 23rd May. The event starts at 10:00.

Join us for a morning of relaxing and invigorating Qi Gong. In the first session you’ll be guided through a series of gentle stretches and static postures to open the channels and allow energy to flow. Afterwards we’ll explore Golden Ball Tai Chi, bringing awareness of energy through simple, flowing movements. This will be followed by lunch cooked with favourite wild ingredients, condiments, sauces, marinades, dips, pickles and ferments. In the afternoon we’ll enjoy a relaxed foraging walk in and around the beautiful walled garden at Leigh Court. We’ll introduce you to our favourite seasonal wild edibles discussing their nutrition, medicine and culinary uses. You’ll take away valuable, meaningful knowledge for life as well as memories of a very special day!
This event is a collaboration between Leigh Court Farm, Matter Whole Foods, and Martin Bailey of Go Foraging. Between them they bring a wealth of knowledge around the creative use of delicious organic ingredients and fermentation techniques and a passion for sharing great food with others. As well as.co-owning Leigh Court Farm, Lily and John cater for various local events and supply veg to some of Bristol‘s top restaurants. Martin is a veteran in the foraging world, with 13 + years of teaching experience. He’s brings not only a passion for all things wild food related, but also his passion about deep nature connection, community resilience and personal empowerment. Alongside foraging he teaches the art of Standing like a Tree Qi Gong. This is a powerfully transformative and truly wonderful practice for restoring and maintaining good health. Relaxing, fun and really easy to practice. He has trained for the last 17 years with world renowned expert Master Lam Kam Chuen
