Moving Parts: In Conversation With Prabda Yoon at Foyles Bristol
See event details

A event on Friday 7th September. The event starts at 19:30.

We're excited to be hosting Thai writer, translator and film-maker, Prabda Yoon in conversation at Foyles, Cabot Circus. His new book, Moving Parts, is his second collection of short stories out from Tilted Axis Press and a rare publication of Thai fiction translated into English.

Undoubtedly a master of the short story form, Yoon's collections, The Sad Part Was and Moving Parts are as witty and playful as the best of Pedro Almodovar, George Saunders, or Clarice Lispector. But they are also undoubtedly modern, focused on the real concerns and ecounters of contemporary Bangkok. Writing without formal or narrative limits, Yoon has a natural affinity for the strange, but as such shows us that nothing is as strange and unpredictable as being alive.

Tilted Axis Press are a Sheffield-based independent, international and radical press committed to bringing innovative new work in translation into English for the first time.

Prabda Yoon will be in conversation with his translator Mui Poopoksakul. Tickets price includes a complimentary glass of wine.
