Of all the bands who cropped up in the late 70s downtown NYC scene, Ut were perhaps the most concerned with actual songwriting. Much more than just scratchy guitars and skronk sax, to this day they still haven't received their fair dues, with clear influence heard in the work of Sonic Youth and Savages. Fans of PJ Harvey and Patti Smith should get a decent kick too.
Hosted by Cacophonous Sarcophagus and Fat Paul Presents at Exchange, with support from Strasbourgian freakoid digi-punk Zad Kokar and the "Alien Science Witch' Slaylor Moon.
