“Barter’s work is on first glance, a series of childlike sculptures combined to create an engaging installation. However, this playful exterior is deceiving as dead fish are strung up by hooks in their mouths whilst a giant cod lies lifeless behind. ‘It’s a Problem for the Kids’ looks to highlight climate damage, with the global issue of bottom trawling and overfishing being a key concern to the artist. Materials used in Barter’s piece (Steel, Latex, Plaster, Polystyrene, and jesmonite) include some that are considered environmentally 'harmful' to enhance its sinister aspect.”

“Hannah lives by the seaside with Mum, Dad, and two brothers, Ben and Joshua. The brothers are very different. Ben lets Hannah in his room, they play spies together and, sometimes, he even gives her a hug. These things aren't possible with Joshua. It's like he speaks a different language. Mum says they have to 'understand each other's worlds'. Mission accepted.”

“Bristol Life Drawing presents two hour sessions at HOURS space two Friday’s a month.

This is a relaxed event to encourage diversity and creativity. Come join a lovely group of people and enjoy drawing two beautiful models. We will start off the session with a few quick poses to warm up then move onto longer poses that’ll allow you to focus on detail.

Sessions include a fun jazz and r&b playlist along with wine and hot beverages! Basic materials are provided but we encourage you to bring your own. All levels are welcomed!

“If you would like to perform then please email us at [email protected] and give us a bit of info about what you would like to perform. The only requirement is that you have written it yourself. It does not have to be spooky (would be nice though). However fancy dress is mandatory!”

“Party is back on October 21st with an amazing line up of trans/nb/female comics! But, oh no! Mr Disco Ball the mean old Party mascot/heckler/comms lead is suing Party hosts and Scrapqueens - Imogen and Pravanya - for never featuring his favourite act - Elvis Presley!!!”
