Magisterial double-bassist Jim Barr will be joined by his Get The Blessing compadre Pete Judge on trumpet, and extraordinary drummer Matt Brown (Dakhla Brass / Modulus III / etc), for an evening of Monk tunes & beyond.”

“For our Christmas Special this year we have put together a group of Bristol’s finest players to perform some Blue Note style jazz classics and favourite standards. Fronting the band we have saxophonist and flautist Kevin Figes, a mainstay of the Bristol scene as player, composer and Pig Records production mogul, alongside the outstanding trumpeter Jonny Bruce, well known for his Tribute To The Trumpet Kings project and as co-leader of the Bruce Ilett Big Band. They are teamed with one of the finest rhythm sections money can buy. Kevin Figes - alto sax, Jonny Bruce - trumpet, Jim Blomfield - piano, Riaan Vosloo - bass and Andy Tween - drums plus the possibility of a few guests dropping by.”
