“Aldous Harding’s music is not for the faint of heart. Disarming in its desolate imagery and stark instrumentation, her songs draw from the core facets of life: death, birth, grief and love. There are few happy endings, but the power is in how Harding enters into battle; with a dancer’s grace and a boxer’s stance.”

“Lonely Tourist delivers a 'beard pop' and 'pub-step' like a greyhound out the traps. The tunes -much favoured by Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe - are largely upbeat and joyous, despite the sometimes bleak subject matter. Imagine Malcolm Middleton taking a happy pill, and this might be the result.”

“Singer-songwriter Megs Emrys has just released her debut EP ‘Solar Motorbike’: Folk Rock with a touch of Peruvian magic, taking the listener on a magical and emotive journey, blending voice and guitar to conjure vivid sonic pictures of the Andes of Peru, dark woods, Welsh coastlands and fantasy worlds. Another classy debut at Bristol's tiniest, friendliest venue. www.megsemrys.com/music/

“Following the acclaimed release of Akö – an idiosyncratic yet infectiously catchy blend of guitar, banjo, cello, trombone and the artist’s soulful voice – Cameroonian singer-songwriter Blick Bassy will perform with his three-piece band on the stage of the Royal Festival Hall on Friday 11 September. Major acclaim in France has been followed by reviews in The Guardian, The Observer, Evening Standard and Songlines Magazine. And, as well as being played by Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe and Cerys Matthews on 6Music and by Max Reinhardt and Mary Anne Kennedy on BBC Radio 3, Blick’s music was chosen by Apple for a worldwide campaign to advertise the iPhone6.”

“As seen on BBC TV’s Transatlantic Sessions singing and fiddling with Aly Bain and Jerry Douglas, multi-instrumentalist (he covers banjo and guitar as well as fiddle and vocals) Bruce Molsky is one of the major figures in American bluegrass and oldtime music, and a Visiting Scholar in Berklee College’s American Roots Program. He’s collaborated with Mark Knopfler (as a special guest on the Tracker album), Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, and topped the Billboard charts with 1865 — Songs of Hope and Home from the American Civil War by Anonymous 4. His brand new Mountain Drfters band is a hot string trio with Allison de Groot on clawhammer banjo and Stash”
