Friendly Records Christmas Party w/ Modern Nature at Friendly Records Bar

A gig on Wednesday 18th December. The event starts at 19:00.

Ho Ho Ho!

Come and join us as we celebrate another year selling records. We'll be joined by our friends Modern Nature playing live and the cast of Friendly Records DJs playing side by side with the usual expansive selection you would hope from a record shop. Recently we've had some really great musical nights in the bar and this promises to be one of the special ones.

Some praise from the press for Modern Nature...

'Taking their cue from the tender falsetto of English folkman Nick Drake, the free-form rhythms of Alice Coltrane and the rattling guitars of Radiohead' (Ammar Kalia, The Guardian)

'Modern Nature feel like a long–lost cousin of Talk Talk or Wooden Shjips, as they combine simple guitars with motorik beats, soft synth pads and saxophone improvisations' (DIY magazine)

'Pastoral prog and horizon–chasing Krautrock push onward' (Q magazine)

7pm-late
£5 (through Headfirst or direct from the shop)
