on Saturday 30th November. The event starts at 20:00.
On Saturday 30th November '19, singer-songwriter, producer and progressive choir leader, ISOLDE, will be launching the long awaited physical release of 2nd EP, 'Elements', mixed & mastered by Aneek Thapar (Ninja Tunes), in the intimate Sofar Sounds venue, GLITCH. You are welcome to join us for new sounds, a new band, and MOJITOs...
Absorbing influences from Neo-Soul, Nu-Jazz, Trip-Hop and Experimental Pop, and incorporating found sounds & field recordings taken from an influential trip to India/Nepal, ISOLDE writes about aspects which link us, not set us apart - the common universal elements of earth, water, made new through the experience of being in another culture. In the mix you might hear echoes of Bjork's other-worldliness, the edgy soul of Little Dragon and Erykah Badu, the glitchy downtempo beats of James Blake and Lamb, the experimental songwriting of Tune-Yards and Hanne Hukkleberg, and the sumptuously tight harmonies of Hiatus Koyote and HAIM.
We'll be joined by Alex Heane on the double bass (Rachael Dadd), Rob Pemberton on drum kit & Percussion (Rachael Dadd), Jakob Op Den Brouw on keys & samples (Charlie & Jake), and backing vocalists from Murmuration Choir singers Emme Hastings, Laura Goucher, Charlie Atterton & Melissa Thompson. Playing tunes from the new EP, first EP 'Seed Bud Bloom' and unreleased tracks from ISOLDE's work-in-progress debut album, we’ll be surrounded by the lush plants and quirky atmosphere of our multi-functional Hairdresser host venue.

CLARE NORTHEY
French violinist Claire Northey brings an air of the North African coast to the UK. Between trip hop and world music, with looped beats & vocals, Claire’s music is inspired by her time writing for theatre productions in France, Egypt and Morocco.
She released her debut album Mavromati in April 2017 with new Bristol label CHK ONE, available on Bandcamp and all online platforms.
"As far away from Western pop tradition as you can get, her jazz/ folk odysseys weave playfully between trip-hop, Eastern European and Arabic influences... For fans of Bjork, Ennio Morricone and Zero 7." - Manchester Evening News

TODDLER
Toddler is the pseudonym of Bristol (UK) based bassist/singer-songwriter, Stevie Jo Dooley. With a glorious string of self released EPs under her belt and a sugar-sweet sound reminiscent of Joanna Newsom, early Bjork and St. Vincent, Toddler will be bringing a unique stripped down solo show to us tonight.
