Pharmacy Project

We invite Ruf Dug for a DIY hi-fi party inspired by Electric Boogaloo.

First introduced as a stage at our recent festival, Electric Boogaloo was praised as a truly standout and unique environment. Inspired by ‘loft parties’, an idea pioneered in underground spaces in NYC back in the late 70s, these parties centred around comfort, community and pushing the envelope both sonically and musically.

For those unfamiliar, Ruf Dug is a selector and unofficial music professor who's been honing his craft since the early 90s, gracing the likes of Houghton, Panorama Bar and Burning Man over the years. His curveball selections sit somewhere at the crossroads of acid house, disco, soul, Detroit electro and all sorts of wonderful oddities. Expect a masterclass in eclectic and fearless ear candy.

With deep roots in the DIY party scene and a shared love for hi-fi sound, it only felt right to bring him down for an Electric Boogaloo-inspired night.

The most salient part of hi-fi parties, and subsequently the priority for Electric Boogaloo, will always be exceptional sound. Tangerine Soundsystem brings the sonic ideology of the hi-fi party into the modern age. It will be accompanied by Coco HiFi on rear fills to complete the immersion.

In our usual DIY approach, we're getting friends and familiar faces together to completely transform the space. Think sofas, drapes, rugs covering the dancefloor, installations and a few new bits we're building especially for the occasion.

We have close friends and all-round music enthusiasts Teo Joss & Bobwire kicking the night off.

See you there, and of course, reach out if you want to get involved X
