The West African harp the kora is made from a dried gourd and fishing line; the Welsh harp is one of the most potent icons of a nation steeped in music. Both nations share a centuries-old bardic tradition of intricate oral history, expressed through music, verse and song.
From Casamance in Senegal, Seckou Keita has built a formidable reputation as a brilliant live performer with stacks of charisma (Lucy Duran, BBC Radio 3). Catrin Finch is one of Wales's leading international musical ambassadors.
