Milk Poetry at Halo
£5

A event on Monday 16th May. The event starts at 19:30pm.

Honey, we're home!

That's right, after briefly trotting over the river to Tobacco Factory Theatres last month, we've safely nestled back into the beautiful Halo to bring you some more delcious wordshakes. This month Milk Poetry will be bringing you even more fresh new talent, and gosh aren't they darn handsome?

Joining us on stage will be

Joshua Luke Smith
The 25 year old wordsmith's self produced debut EP landed in the top 10 of the UK and international iTunes charts and has lead the young poet and record label founder to receive BBC 6 Music radio play as well as features with BBC 1xtra and the London Roundhouse.

With his sophomore EP “Your Beauty” recently released, accompanied by a string of live shows Joshua Luke Smith is fast becoming an inspired and important voice for his generation.

Joe Beaumont-Howell
London based, but Leicester born, Joe Beaumont-Howell is a performance poet, spoken word artist and storyteller with a love for all things real and a focus on finding beauty in the broken. Starting out shouting poems in pubs, Joe has since worked
with organisations such as Roundhouse where he is an active artist resident and BBC 1Xtra, is part of the Raleigh Road Collective and has performed in venues across the country.

"Joe's poems are beautifully crafted, very human stories; micro dramas of the real, the difficult, the drunk and disorderly. A genuine new talent to look out for." - Chris Redmond (Tongue Fu)

We'll also have the winner of our previous slam, the WONDERFUL and ever charming Sarah McCreadie.

And to top it off, of course, we have spaces in our 6-man audience voted slam.
Comment down below for you chance to stretch your linguistic muscles at our next event. Winner gets great acclaim, lots of love and a little milky somethin'.

All held together by the shambles that is Malaika Kegode.
Should be a gooden.

Join us from 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
