Autism & SEND Concert - Becky, Boris and the Beats at Ham Farm Festival
Pay What You Can, suggested £5/3

A gig on Sunday 28th July. The event starts at 14:00.

This is an informal concert held in the marquee in the gardens at Ham Farm. Absolutely everyone is welcome to come and enjoy this concert, but we are making it especially autism-friendly (see below for how) and hope many individuals or families with autistm or special needs will feel confident to come along.

Join storyteller Becky with her cello, ukulele and her merry band of musicians from ‘Becky Boris and the Beats' as we go on a storytelling adventure with the Musicians of Bremen! There will be optional interaction and participation, where those who want to can move, sing and play along with us on this musical adventure’.

This relaxed and welcoming performance is for all ages, and will be supported with Makaton and visual aids

"What does autism and SEND-friendly mean for a concert?"
In a word, non-judgemental. There is no expectation of how you should behave as an audience member/ participant in this concert, and no judgement. If you want to sing, sing. If you want to dance, dance. Nobody will mind if you make a noise, move around, come right up close (or stay far away).

There will be fidget toys available to borrow, plenty of space to move, smaller numbers to avoid crowds, minimal amplification, as well as makaton signing and visual aids. There will also be a downloadable toolkit, including a social story and videos, to help you prepare for this concert. If you need any help or we can improve your experience in any way, just tell us.
