What is Imperialism? A short history of conquest, at Hamilton House, BS1 3QY

A event on Wednesday 9th April. The event starts at 18:30.

The 20th and 21st centuries have been ones of wars and genocides, in which stronger nations have sought to dominate the weak as well as directly clashing with each other.

WW1, WW2 & the Cold War all saw fierce struggles between different imperial powers. Hopes that the post Cold War world would be more peaceful have proven to be illusory as conflict rages in Gaza, Ukraine and beyond.

But what is Imperialism and how does it drive wars between nations? How has it been theorised and what is its history?

Come and join author and anti-war activist Chris Nineham as he discuss the questions in the Mild West Room at Hamilton House.

The event is free, but we usually ask for a small donation if possible to help cover our costs.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
