Headliner: CAREY MARX

Carey Marx’s comedy is a masterclass in intelligent mischief, blending razor-sharp joke writing with dark humour, linguistic precision and a gleeful willingness to challenge taboos. Beneath the provocative edge lies an unmistakable warmth, allowing audiences to laugh at subjects that might otherwise feel off-limits. His economical delivery and expertly crafted punchlines reward attentive listeners, while his playful, devilish persona ensures even the bleakest material feels exhilarating rather than cynical. As Chortle observed, he is “a darkly comic Quentin Tarantino” who “guarantees a solid cascade of laughs,” while The Guardian praised his “genius for the unexpected and hilarious left turns,” confirming Marx as one of Britain’s most distinctive comic voices.

Carey Marx is an unapologetic gagsmith. The jokes are short and sharp, often uncomfortably so, as any morality is sacrificed on the altar of quick laughs. And there’s no better way of guaranteeing a reaction than storming headlong into decidedly dodgy territory.

"Hilariously demented" Edinburgh Evening News

"Anecdotally debauched … But if his lines are frequently sick, they're elegantly written, too, and there's a childlike glee to his naughtiness." The Herald
