Bristol's hottest little comedy secret is back! This week we have a Car-diff-load of comics coming across the bridge from Wales to split petrol and your sides (what the heck am I even talking about?). This is a great lineup of some of the Southwest's best comedians, all crammed into one weeknight at your comedy local, upstairs at The Lazy Dog.
Our headliner: It's Phil Cooper! His show "Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool" was a hit up at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, and his sharp and charming storytelling and loose-but-energetic delivery is a consistent delight. Phil regularly appears on Welch TV and radio, as well as gigging all over the UK.
Chris Chopping had his own hour this year, "Premature Emasculation," a pithy, witty show full of petty insecurities, impotent rage and a certain amount of erudite smut. Chris blends hilarious stand up with bold character comedy to explore every possible facet of male insecurity.
Sarah Breese is a mischievous ball of comedy nonsense. Since joining the circuit in 2015, Breese has been making waves on the Welsh standup scene and beyond. Funny, excitable and engaging, her comedy is a combination of sharp observations, skewed logic, and boundless enthusiasm.
And it's all hosted and generally fussed over by that cranky Yankee, Tony Chiotti.
Advance tickets are available at the bar, or online. Doors at 7:30 and we fill the place, so get there early, even if you have a ticket. We start right at 8.
The show is followed by a free open mic, right up to last orders.
