on Thursday 8th March. The event starts at 20:00pm.
This week at your comedy local, it's a double-hander of the sharpest, strangest and oddball-iest comedy you'll probably see this year.
These two belong on the same bill, and we're excited to bring these acts together to see what happens. It might be like a science fair volcano, really, but it'll be one that wins a ribbon and requires some facilities work afterwards before school starts back up.
Paul F Taylor won the New Act Of The Year competition in 2013, and they don't exactly hand those out in Kinder Eggs. He was a nominee for best new show at Leicester Comedy Festival last year, and he was one of the Top Jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe the year before that.
He's a surreal and surprising standup, as well as a prolific writer and part of the double act Short and Curly. You can find some clips out thereof the Helm & Taylor Show, which he's done with Nick Helm, who is stupid famous now. Paul's comedy is somehow spot-on and off-the-wall simultaneously, and you won't forget the ride he takes you on.
Andy Field was winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2015, as well as finalist in the 2014 Leicester Square New Act of the Year,
A regular at festivals such as Latitude, Bestival, Leefest and Secret Garden Party, Andy is fast becoming a familiar face at top comedy clubs around the country. He has hosted his own webseries in the Tub, in which he interviewed up-and-coming bands in the bath (of course). He has a Masters in Creative Writing from Brunel.
Andy returned to Edinburgh in 2017 with a brand new hour of sketch meets stand up, The Andy Field Experience, which garnered numerous 4 and 5 star reviews.
With local support from some of the finest in Bristol, and as ever, your host Tony Chiotti.
