Matt Rees, Vicky Chapman, Riordan DJ + G at How Lazy Is He? Comedy Night at the Lazy Dog
See event details

A event on Thursday 9th November. The event starts at 20:00pm.

Matt Rees is an award-winning comic, and tour-support favorite with an impressive list of professional achievements and accolades I could hammer at here. But the truth is I asked him to headline because I saw him do a spot on a showcase a few months ago at the Machynlleth Festival and I was immediately a superfan. He killed it, of course, but he has a wry and dry delivery and an honest and personal take I want to see more of. Basically, I'm booking him selfishly because I want to see more of the guy, and I need resolution from the cliffhangers of his life changes he left me with. More Rees...the chant begins....Maximal Rees!

The top part of the show is a showcase in itself, with:

The sharp and salty storytelling of Vicky Chapman.

New material from Bristol's favorite musical meltdown of charisma and crisis: George William Rigden.

And the puppy-faced newcomer Riordan DJ, but the puppy-face of Laika, because Riordan is on a rocketship to fame and fortune (at least if you look at the past winners of the Chortle Student Award, which he managed to bring back to Bristol this year). And like Laika, once he's gone, he probably won't return...oh God why did I go there? This is comedy and I ruined it again with a dark reference. But we can win it back.

I'll proabably do that on the night, as well. But it will be a great time, I promise.

Doors at 7:30, show right at 8. Upstairs.

Tickets are a fiver on the door or online, or a bit cheaper in advance from the bar.

Followed by a free open mic, or you can just head out after Matt if it's a school night for you.
