Featuring:

Nicholson Heal

Brass-slinging, hook-filled indie with lyrics to make your heart swell or break.

Nicholson Heal leads a brass-wielding six-piece of the same name. Performing in and around the West Country, the group is a mainstay of festivals like Dot to Dot and Harbourside Fest with support slots including MONEY, Dent May and Lanterns on the Lake. Nic and the band have carved out a reputation for crafting hook-laden songs that also boast depth and subtlety. Sonic similarities include Elliott Smith, My Morning Jacket, M Ward and Beirut. Other influences include various ‘outsider’ artists and all things carnivalesque.

High Climbers

The roots of High Climbers began as primitive bedroom sessions between Karim and Mike back in early 2013. Their initial inability to communicate verbally paved the way for a special musical language to form. Call it being in the right place at the right time, but far away from where you started.

Despite pushing on as a duo, the boys always felt the skills of a bassist and drummer would enhance their sound (or at least make studio sessions cheaper). In mid-2016 they met power couple Rob and Susie, who by some stroke of luck played the very instruments lacking in High Climbers. Thankfully the two didn't need any convincing and in mid-2017 the group officially squared.

High Climbers play mood music with the aid of guitars, keys, and voices and are committed to bridging the cultural divide.

"Folk-rock-gaze-fusion loveliness, hitting the road with a shiny new rhythm section. Sounds like Mercury Rev fighting Neil Young." Liquid Library
