Matthew Richards, Grasslands, James Osland at Hydra Bookshop

A gig on Saturday 17th February. The event starts at 18:30pm.

An evening of ambient, drone and experimental music.

Matthew Richards - Bristol-based sonic explorer. Dealing mainly in long-form forestial ambience and cavernous drones, created from personally collected found sound, manipulated acoustic instruments, sampling and the occasional bursts of harsh noise and fuzzy glitch. Hardware and software utilised and represented live. A journey in texture not to be missed.

Grasslands - Grasslands is musician/producer and ecologist Tom Haynes based in Swindon. Grasslands is a fusion of alternative rock, electronica, found sounds and folk pollinated with information about meadows, grasses and the environment. Grasslands performs in both electronic form (with his rig of synths, samplers and DJ decks) and as a more gentle acoustic act with acoustic guitar and occasional samples.

James Osland - James Osland is an audio and visual artist currently residing in Devon, UK. His work seeks to explore our relationship with sound memory and place.
