A gig held at The Ill Repute on Saturday 19th February. The event starts at 20:00.

A Different Thread a collaboration between Robert Jackson (from the Midlands UK) and Alicia Best (from Durham NC, USA). Their toe-tapping tunes have enthralled audiences from Budapest to Guatemala and gained the attention of both BBC and NPR radio. The transatlantic nature of the duo means they can’t always perform together. For this tour, Jackson takes centre stage, joined by Mike Seal on double bass and rock 'n roll legend 'Alfi Romeo' on lead guitar.

With his stirring voice, wailing harmonica, and fingerpicking guitar, Robert Jackson is a dynamic singer-songwriter who's sound that pays tribute to the piedmont blues of Appalachia, merged with the more atmospheric stylings of English folk and Americana. As poets and travellers at heart, A Different Thread’s though-provoking lyrics deal with romance, reckoning, and the call of the road.
