Out of the Past at The Ill Repute
Free Entry!

A event held at The Ill Repute on Sunday 22nd February. The event starts at 19:00.

On Sunday 22nd February, Something of the Night returns—dragging us deeper into a world where the past never stays buried and redemption is just another lie we tell ourselves. This time, they’re screening one of the most beautifully doomed films ever made: OUT OF THE PAST (1947) Robert Mitchum. Jane Greer. One last job. One last chance. No way out. Mitchum plays a former private eye trying to live quiet, clean, and far away from the life that nearly killed him. But noir doesn’t believe in fresh starts. When his old boss comes calling—and the woman who ruined everything steps back into the light—the trap snaps shut. This is noir at its most fatalistic; long shadows and longer memories, dialogue that cuts like broken glass, sunlit scenes that feel just as dangerous as the dark, and romance poisoned from the first look. Out of the Past is all atmosphere and inevitability, a film where every road leads back to the same bad ending, and everyone knows it… even if they pretend otherwise. Something of the Night runs every other Sunday, dedicated to classic noir and the beautiful, hopeless people who inhabit it. You can run. You can hide. But the past always catches up. • Location: Downstairs at The Ill Repute • Entry: Free • Film starts: 7PM • Drinks: Available upstairs
