A event held at The Ill Repute on Sunday 28th June. The event starts at 20:00.

On Sunday 28th June, SOMETHING OF THE NIGHT takes you into the dark, scheming, seedy world of travelling carnivals and nightclub performers, for one of the most unique film noirs ever made: Nightmare Alley.

Before Guillermo del Toro’s version of the William Lindsay Graham novel came this, an adaptation that still has the power to shock, and does not pull any punches when it comes to the darkness of the material.

Tyrone Power stars as Stan, a Machiavellian drifter who is drawn into a travelling carnival. Encountering a vaudeville performer and her alcoholic husband, and learning the tricks of the trade to become a psychic performer, he schemes and manipulates his way to success - but after that rise comes an inevitable fall.
